Job description:
We are currently seeking an instructor who would be able to teach the following courses: PSW Foundations, within this program. The instructor must establish a good understanding of all these contents and is able to teach/administer education effectively.
Job Responsibilities:
• Instruct students using an established curriculum consisting of lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, interactive activities, etc.
• Competently inform students of program evaluation guidelines.
• Strictly adhere to set classroom schedule.
• Adjust instruction techniques to meet the needs of students.
• Assist students in the development of efficient learning skills and study habits.
• Ensure all course objectives/modules are taught in accordance with program schedule.
• Establish classroom atmosphere which is conducive to learning.
• Maintain fair, firm, and consistent disciplinary measures.
• Regularly monitor student progress; provide relevant feedback regarding performance.
• Keep accurate and complete records of student performance.
• Maintain professional registration through your governing body.
• Other duties as assigned by Campus Manager and Campus Director.
Qualifications and Experience
• Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with current registration and no practice restrictions with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Minimum of two (2) years current, relevant work experience in a Canadian clinical environment preferably in a long-term care/community/chronic care setting.
• Meet Instructor qualification standards as outlined in the Regulations to Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.
• Knowledge of the NACC's Personal Support Worker program curriculum is an asset.
