Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity tests, refraction, and diagnosing eye diseases or abnormalities.
Prescribe and fit corrective lenses, such as glasses or contact lenses, based on individual patient needs.
Offer expert advice and recommendations regarding eye health, vision correction, and appropriate eyewear options.
Conduct specialized tests, such as glaucoma screenings, color vision assessments, and visual field testing.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting examination findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in optometry practices and actively engage in professional development opportunities.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical standards in the field of optometry.
Requirements:
Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry program.
Valid optometry license in Ontario, Canada.
Excellent clinical skills and the ability to provide comprehensive eye care.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accurate and organized patient records.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
A passion for delivering exceptional patient care and exceeding expectations.
