Summary of the Role:

As the hiring manager at Gifted Academy Tutors, we are seeking an experienced Online High School/University Mathematics Tutor with a minimum of 4 years of tutoring experience at both high school and university levels. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality mathematics education to students following the Ontario Curriculum. This role involves tutoring high school mathematics from Grade 10 to 12, covering topics such as Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus, and Vectors. The successful applicant will be expected to provide evidence of their tutoring capabilities through the submission of two reference letters from their preferred tutoring experiences.

Responsibilities:

- Deliver engaging and effective online mathematics tutoring sessions for high school and university students, adhering to the Ontario Curriculum guidelines.

- Create personalized learning plans for students based on their individual learning needs, strengths, and areas of improvement.

- Explain complex mathematical concepts in an understandable and relatable manner, fostering a positive and effective learning environment.

- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their understanding and performance in mathematics.

- Develop and utilize a variety of teaching materials, resources, and technologies to enhance the tutoring experience.

- Monitor student progress, track their performance, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly to ensure continuous improvement.

- Collaborate with students, parents, and fellow educators to address questions, concerns, and provide updates on student progress.

- Stay up-to-date with changes in the Ontario Curriculum and implement relevant updates in the tutoring approach.

Qualifications:

- A minimum of 4 years of experience in tutoring high school and university mathematics.

- Comprehensive understanding of the Ontario Curriculum for Grade 10 to 12 mathematics, including Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus, and Vectors.

- Strong proficiency in both verbal and written communication to effectively explain complex concepts.

- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field is preferred.

- Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and create a positive learning environment.

- Proven ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities.

- Familiarity with online tutoring platforms and technology to conduct virtual sessions seamlessly.
