- Provide occupational therapy services to clients in the community to achieve quality client focused care.
- Planning and implementing goal directed services,
- Evaluating the effectiveness of the service,
- Work without general supervision and may be required to supervise up to and including two (2) FTE.
- Preparing and maintaining records.
- Contribute to the organization and delivery of occupational therapy services, and participate in departmental/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education.
- Identifying and assessing client’s performance issues utilizing an evidence-based approach,
- Perform duties including
- Degree in occupational therapy or rehabilitation medicine.
- Valid BC Driver’s License. Local travel requires the use of a personal vehicle
- Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).
- Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
- Ability to supervise.
- Broad knowledge of occupational therapy theory and practice within a client and family centred model of care.
- Basic knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice related to designated clinical area.
- Demonstrated ability to function as a team member.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and clients both one-on-one and in groups.
- Broad knowledge of occupational therapy standardized tests and measures.
- Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care.
- Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others in a complex health care environment.
- Skilled in the use of equipment, and in the techniques appropriate for occupational therapy treatment.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize when referral to another health care professional is required.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and empower clients to assume control over their health.

- Performs scheduling and booking functions for a variety of patient appointments for designated areas within Radiology.
- Making follow up appointments,
- Locating applicable images/films prior to appointments,
- Filing requisitions for all bookings, and acting as receptionist to support the delivery of patient care and to ensure client/family needs are met above all other concerns.
- Rearranging schedules to meet changing demands/requests,
- Arranging times with patients, doctor's offices, nursing units, physicians, technical staff and surgical/medical daycare,
- Preparing and confirming patient information, entering booking, patient and image/film information into radiology and hospital computerized and/or manual booking and patient information systems,
- Performs duties such as
- Grade 12, two (2) years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
