Job Description
The Randstad Healthcare team is supporting the recruitment process on behalf of one of our clients in their search for an experienced leader of healthcare and nursing operations to join their organization as an Administrator ("General Manager") to help establish and oversees operations of a new premium assisted living and care facility. This position will involve a combination of oversight of the staff and patients to ensure operational and regulatory compliance and quality assurance; aggregation and analysis of relevant metrics to create reports for senior leadership; training, development, and management of a team of direct reports as well as holistic oversight of the care staff as a whole; and management of financial resources and being accountable for financial viability and growth.
A successful applicant MUST be a registered nurse (RN) currently in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario with experience in managing a successful clinical nursing operation who has an excellent track record of leading a team and enterprise to ensure effective care and long-term business success. This position is a great fit for someone with a nursing background who is seeking a role with a wider scope of involvement in business principles as you will be heavily involved in building up the team and operations of the facility and will directly contribute to its initial success.

Responsibilities
  • Reporting on operational metrics and involvement in the decision-making process related to the practice
  • Oversight of a premium care facility to ensure a "white glove" standard of care for the patients, including patient comfort & satisfaction, care plan management, and participation in the provision of care when necessary
  • Appraisal of specialty services and programs and coordination with other leaders to effectively manage their implementation
  • Hiring, evaluating, training, and managing a team of care providers; identifying staffing needs and managing roster accordingly
  • Professional development on an ongoing basis to ensure that knowledge of nursing standards and best practices are aligned with the newest information available
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory standards related to the nursing practice and company policy
  • Accountability of an operational budget, with a goal toward continual business growth
Qualifications
A successful candidate for this role has each of the following:
  • Familiarity with provincial and federal regulations and experience in oversight of their compliance
  • A degree or certification in business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field, or experience in project or program leadership relating to the healthcare field is an asset
  • A current, valid Registered Nursing (RN) license through the CNO
  • Experience in leading a large team, including hiring, supervision and performance management
  • Experience in having oversight and management of a budget
  • Minimum of five years of experience working in a community, homecare or related clinical nursing setting
