Job Description
Anyon Systems is a quantum computing company located in the Greater Montreal Region with presence in Waterloo, Ontario. We work at the cutting edge of technology to develop and commercialise quantum computing solutions. The company is rapidly growing and has both hardware and software groups to achieve its R&D goals.
As a Quantum NanoFab Engineer, you will be working within a team of engineers and scientists dedicated to the nanofabrication, packaging, and characterization of superconducting quantum processors. You will collaborate closely with our quantum design team in Montreal and members of other teams when required. In this role, you will draw on your strong expertise in the cleanroom as well as your critical thinking and obsession for documentation to develop reliable and novel nanofabrication processes.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, characterize, improve, and optimize nanofabrication processes for the production of high-quality superconducting quantum chips;
  • Produce documentation pertaining to the nanofabrication processes.
  • Manage equipment and supplies;
Qualifications
  • Experience working with nanofabrication using superconducting materials is an asset;
  • Experience with superconducting quantum circuits and/or superconducting qubits is an asset.
  • Familiar with cleanroom safety and hazardous materials handling protocols;
  • 3+ years of experience in top-down nanofabrication;
  • Graduate degree in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent;
  • Hands-on expertise in one or more of the following advanced nanofabrication topics: E-beam lithography, chip packaging, and 3D integration.
  • Extensive experience in most of the following processes and tools: photolithography, laser writing, plasma etching, wet etching, metal and dielectric thin film deposition, wire bonding, and characterization (SEM, AFM, electrical testing, etc.).
  • Experience working in an industrial setting is an asset;
