Job Description

General Responsibilities:


  • Willing to work occasional weekends and extended hours during the work week as needed and be flexible to schedule changes.
  • Communicate with coworkers and supervisors in a clear and professional manner.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Your lead has identified you as an expert in two or more category 2 areas.
  • Provide training to more junior level, less experienced workers
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Attend training programs offered by the Company.
  • Door Assembly (Level II - Cranes) – cross trained


    • Read and Interpret Production paper-work.
    • Help pin the fire doors at times.
    • Build all types of doors with the correct specifications to the customer’s request.
    • Work while keeping in mind a high level of quality, safety, and productivity.
    • Measure, cut and assemble (at times run radial arm saw)
    • Scrapers and Rubber mallet to fit pieces together
    • Safely assemble door frames using pneumatic and manual tools while working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring correct components are used.
    • Employee is responsible for the assembly of doors.
    • As time allows, light clean up in the work area.


    Glazing/Heesemann


    • Operation of the Heesemann Sanding Machine. Work with cranes. Run whole doors through the sander, se-up of Heesemann machine with precision. (Fire Door 300 lbs). Vacuum lifter on crane. Load panels manually at times 50 lbs. range. Apply stains (Pat).
    • All finishing touches of the door, including placement of glass into the doors; cutting trim; Important to note tempered glass cannot be cut (95%) firelight can be cut.


    Saw Operator


    • Hold and cut up to two cores at once
    • Correctly count and read schedule.
    • Highlight/identify core that requires cutting on printed schedule
    • Measure and set-up core to cut to width and length based on chart specifications.
    • Validate accuracy of core before and after cuts
    • Read tape measure to a 32nd of an inch,


    Panel Saw


    • Cuts the core material for each department. Supplying edging clamp; rim branding; bladder press and press areas.


    Veneer Area (Guillotine; Splicer; Winter Steiger)


    • Make the face veneers for all the components; styles and rails and make sure they match for color and grain.


    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:


    • Flexible to work in any area of the facility.
    • Able to work independently or within a team to meet production numbers.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with team, internal customers, and external customers
    • Must be able to lift 50 to 200 lbs. using a dual lift.
    • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Must be committed to working safely and following safety policies.
    • Ability to use basic hand and power tools; tape measure, hammer, table saw etc.
    • Capable of performing repetitive, physical work.
