Job Description
Canada, Kingston

Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across three continents. While we work in science, there’s no magic formula to how we do it. Our greatest scientific solution is talented people working together, devising ideas that help businesses to help people. In exchange, we let our people own their careers. Their ideas, big and small, genuinely improve the world. And that’s the kind of work we want to be part of.

The Mechanical Designer I position reports into the Sustaining Engineering department and is an integral part of the Sustaining Engineering team, which is responsible for driving continuous improvements in the Cocoon product line. This role is responsible to ensure the mechanical design for the Cocoon products can be sustained for manufacture and distribution within regulated markets, and that field defects are investigated and addressed at the design-level. This requires work in the area of mechanical design, thermos-dynamics, fluid-dynamics, accommodating biological process requirements, materials manufacture and assembly, prototyping and testing and transfer to manufacturing. As Mechanical Designer I, you will be given autonomy within the project requirements, and you will be expected to bring new ideas and innovation to the table. Collaboration with other team members and working across functions and supporting multiple projects will be the norm.

We are a team with a great mission, a high level of excitement and resources to accomplish our goals! Learn more here .
