The Mechanical Design-Build Engineer position is located in Vaughan, ON and typically reports directly to the Manager, Mechanical Design Development. Their primary focus is developing a design-build solution from concept to construction for various ICI projects within design build (DB), design build finance maintain (DBFM), P3 (Public-Private Partnerships) and IPD (Integrated Project Delivery) construction models.

Duties And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Undertake research relative to current mechanical construction methods and materials relating to cost efficiency, durability of methods, market trends such as decarbonization.
• Work with the project design team to ensure that client requirements, building codes, regulations, laws and standards are met.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Knowledge of multiple mechanical systems and selecting the correct solution for the project with the ability to balance scope / project requirements, budget, schedule, quality, and risk management.
• Document controls
• Develop and present value engineering initiatives.
• Assist in the development of internal standards for design and documentation of mechanical drawings for construction.
• Prepare mechanical concept designs.
• Assist in the proposal and quotation preparation.
• Organize and review data and engineering drawings, interpret notations and coordinate with stakeholders to minimize conflicts and avoid risks.
• Work with the estimating team in preparing quantity and cost estimates.
• Familiarity with cost estimation and budgetary preparations

Education Requirements

• PMP, GSC and LEED would be considered an asset.
• A Bachelor degree in Engineering or a 3 year Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma.
• P.Eng. or C.E.T. Designation

Work Experience Requirements

• 5-10 years’ experience in mechanical ICI design / construction

• Security clearance requirements
• ProCore Document Management
• MS Office (Word, Excel, Project). Bluebeam / Adobe
• Willing and able to travel to site / client offices within the GTA
• Organization and time management
• Valid Ontario G Driver’s License
