Job Description
Kumon is the world's largest supplemental education company. We offer after-school math and reading programs to children K-12. Our mission is to offer a fun and motivational environment for our students so that learning becomes enjoyable and every student can reach their maximum potential.


Kumon Math and Reading Center of Thorncliffe is actively seeking to fill the position of a Math & Reading Assistant. We are specifically looking for a Math Expert to help with our higher-level math students.


Schedule: The center's operation hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm and 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday.


Essential Job Functions


  • Provide assistance to students in class.
  • Provide hints to guide students through their work.
  • Maintain a neat and professional work area.
  • Give positive reinforcement.
  • Keep notes of observations of how students are working.
  • Ensure students complete their classwork and corrections.
  • Assist with cleaning and organizing the Center.
  • Mark all classwork and homework.


Requirements


  • Customer Service oriented.
  • Excellent Math skills (IB Math preferred). We particularly welcome applicants with previous Kumon work experience or Kumon student experience.
  • Enjoy working with children.
  • Applicants will be tested for appropriate skills.
  • Dependable, friendly, presentable, and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
