Material Planner - Kitchener
We are offering a fast paced, career elevating opportunity baking facility in Kitchener, Ontario. The expectation for every employee of this unique and flexible facility is to work cooperatively as part of the team to produce safe, high quality food products, efficiently and effectively.
As a member of the Production Planning Team, you will be responsible for the tactical execution of ordering and maintaining inventory replenishment of a multi-line SQF facility. You are comfortable working in a fast paced and dynamic environment. You can react to forecasts, seasonality and schedule changes by adjusting inventory patterns and will apply effective analytical skills and root cause analysis. Your skills will be complemented by your ability to collaborate with other departments and build a strong internal network of customers and suppliers.
As part of the Production Planning Team, you will be responsible for all aspects of inventory control within the production facility, including:
- Coach and train hourly employees through inventory management and material handling best practices
- Ordering and monitoring optimized levels of raw and operating materials
- Develop, implement and support receiving, inventory, material handling and shipping processes
- Assure manufacturing lead-time controls are in place, adjust for accuracy and reliability
- Establish and implement continuous improvement goals
- Support special projects as required
Your highly developed communication, organizational and problem solving skills will be coupled with 1-2 years of supply chain planning experience and a college diploma/university degree in logistics, materials management or a related field. You have experience working with ERP/MRP systems and above average proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Previous experience working with SAP would be considered an asset.
