Role Overview
In this role, you will be very hands on in problem solving and project work. You will be involved primarily in floor support that will involve planning, investigation, and execution of changes and project management skills. Your critical thinking and focus on improvement will help you succeed in this role. You should also bring a strong team-first mentality and be able to work with cross functional groups.
What you’ll be doing
- Support kaizen projects with emphasis on cost reduction, and machine cycle time reduction
- Support yearly capex projects with focus on equipment refurbishment and replacement
- Collect and archive legal documentation, to ensure equipment safety and compliance (Pre-start Health and Safety Review, Lifting Device certification, etc.)
- Monitor process and equipment performance to identify continuous improvement opportunities
- Support troubleshooting and problem-solving activities, provide solutions and support for process safety/ergonomic, quality and productivity concerns to ensure concerns are resolved in a timely manner
Desired Skills and Experiences
- Must be flexible to work in Cambridge and/or Woodstock plant locations
- Service orientated and gets directly involved
- Understanding of equipment design a nd function
- Data analysis experience required
- Demonstrated ability to think critically
- Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment preferred
- Willing to support daily and weekend overtime requirements as needed
- Minimum of new graduate to 2 years of relevant work experience is required
- Possible travel to USA and Japan (1-2 times/year)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Manufacturing), other technical degree, or comparable education with additional experience is required
- Proven hands-on problem solving and project management skills
- Multi-disciplinary experience in process or equipment engineering
