We are currently looking for a Manager, Network Optimization, at our Corporate Offices in Ajax, ON

The incumbent will be responsible for steering and monitoring the overall dealer performance and assist in the development plans that will ultimately improve dealer performance for Volkswagen (VW). Reporting to the Director of Network Development this position is in charge of the strategic design and planning of the Canadian Volkswagen Dealer Network. Moreover, this position manages the National Market Study Process, Open Point Declaration process, Dealer Relocation and Investment approval process, & Governance associated with Network Changes. In cooperation with the Manager, Network Planning this position is also responsible of steering, reviewing and approving all buy/sell activities generated by dealers or through Volkswagen Group Canada (VGCA) actions. The Manager of Network Optimization oversees Dealer Performance activities including Dealer under-performance, Business Planning including Dealer Profitability.


**This is a flex hybrid model, requiring 2 days in office**


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and implement Franchise Disclosure (FDD)
  • Communicate optimization decisions to Manager, Network Planning for execution
  • Act as a subject matter expert as it relates to all aspects of Dealer Agreement
  • Manage and administer current Dealer Data Sharing Agreement (DDSA)
  • Drive overall profitability through detailed analytics and understanding of Dealer business
  • Primary Market Area (PAI) Policy Lead with regular maintenance and communication of PAI changes
  • Coordinate and manage FSC meetings for Network Development (including agenda)
  • Responsible for core processes related to maintenance of Dealer Agreement, including ownership and Management changes (DP/GM)
  • Inspire and support team members to strive for greatness within the organization and beyond
  • Champion any Dealer related legal issues as it relates to Retail Performance and NADAP
  • Review, modify and update current Business Plans KPIs as required
  • Prepare & deploy Letter of Intent (LOI) /Letter of Commitment (LOC)
  • Flexibility for regular travel (roughly 20%)
  • Lead/Manage and document the annual Business Planning Process
  • Manage Policies & Standards, Market Intelligence tools, including full vendor administration
  • Responsible for Proposal Validation & Candidate Review
  • Ensure proper reporting is in place to accurately and timely review dealer financial health
  • Manage and lead Dealer Performance Enhancement Program (DPEP), (i.e. Experience+, Wolfsburg Crest Club, Guild programs)
  • Ensure all required documentation is compiled, reviewed and analyzed for succession and open point application packages, then presents recommendations for approval to Franchise Steering Committee.
  • Responsible for recommendations, relocations, appointments, and launch timing
  • Act as a Market Study Lead
  • Responsible for coaching and developing employees
  • Prepare market launch packages ahead of market declarations
  • Develop the tools and organizational capacity to identify and address key performance trends affecting the performance of the dealer network within VW.
  • Manage preparation of optimization recommendations


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of automotive experience including 5+ years’ experience in direct dealer contact
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or relevant work experience
  • Familiarity with assessing dealer performance & development & implementation of improvement strategies
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in Network Development, Business Management, dealer agent or change management
  • Demonstrated high level of initiative
  • Knowledge & understanding of overall automotive dealer operations
  • Understanding of dealer financial statements & ability to complete dealership financial analysis
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Demonstrated record of precision & integrity in past work assignments
  • Bilingualism is an asset (French/English)
