In performing this role, staff oversee the gaming operators, Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC) and Casino Nova Scotia (CNS), who carry out the day-to-day business. About Our Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Gaming Operations, the Manager, Lottery Operations is accountable for interpreting and monitoring financial performance of lottery operations (video lottery, retail and online gaming) and will support the achievement of the Gaming Division’s strategic goals and initiatives related to lottery operations in a socially responsible manner.
Specific accountabilities relate to the achievement of operational, financial, and strategic objectives; supporting and assessing projects and initiatives that support the achievement of those objectives; relationship management; risk assessments; monthly and quarterly reporting; supporting development of communication plans; and, collaborating on compliance, risk and issues management.
Primary Accountabilities
A few of your key responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing regular written reports and presentations.
  • Collaborating on monitoring business risks and regulatory compliance.
  • Having regular meetings and discussions with operator team members and stakeholders.
  • Working collaboratively on projects with the operator and other stakeholders.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with operator and other key stakeholders.
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations are met and reporting requirements fulfilled.
  • Supporting obtaining government approval on initiatives as required.
  • Leading and managing approved projects to completion.
  • Reviewing business plans and budgets, challenging business case assumptions, and upholding accountability for deliverables.
  • Supporting achievement of strategic goals by recognizing needs, conducting research and analysis, and recommending strategic initiatives.
  • Monitoring and analyzing financial performance, assessing variances, and developing in-year financial projections.
Qualifications and Experience
You are results oriented and well organized, have strong analytical skills, and able to solve problems and make sound business decisions. In addition, you are a strong communicator (written and oral), who interacts effectively with others and positively influences relationships.
You have a university degree in business and five (5) years of relevant corporate experience in one or a combination of financial management, contract management, and/or project management.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint is required.
We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.
Successful completion of a security clearance application process will be required as a condition of employment.

Working Conditions
Most of your time is spent in a comfortable office setting. Your normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.

Pay Grade: EC 11
Salary Range: $3,238.10 - $4,047.67 Bi-Weekly
