Job Description
Job Summary And Requirements
This competition will be used to fill one term position working 75 hours biweekly, ending October 11, 2024.
The Yukon Children’s Dental Program (YCDP) is Yukon’s dental public health program for preschool and school-age children in Whitehorse and Rural Yukon. The program delivers diagnostic, preventative, and restorative dental services in fully-operational school dental clinics throughout Yukon. The program is centrally administered in Whitehorse and hosts a preschool clinic at the Whitehorse location. The Yukon Children’s Dental Program is dedicated to providing quality, evidence-informed and safe oral health care services to Yukon’s children with a lens to improved oral health outcomes.
In the position of Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of dental therapists, dental hygienists, and contract dentists to deliver safe, effective, and efficient dental services to meet the oral health needs of children enrolled in the program throughout the territory. Further, under the guidance of the Public Health Dental Consultant, the manager determines priorities, model of service delivery, treatment modalities, and quality assurance initiatives. The manager is responsible for the management of financial, human, and material resources, supports the delivery of itinerant adult services, and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services.
We are looking for a leader who demonstrates a commitment to evidence-based decision making, standards of practice related to dental services and IPAC, an openness to new ideas, and an ability to keep the “big picture” foremost in their mind. At the same time, the position requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail to meet the operational demands of the program. This position requires a consultative approach and proven capacity to develop relationships, motivate and inspire people, lead projects, and work collaboratively with others to achieve public dental health goals. To meet these challenges, you communicate effectively to a broad range of audiences and can rely on your strong conflict resolution and relationship-building skills. You bring enthusiasm and integrity to all aspects of your work life and enjoy being a leader, coach, and mentor to professional and administrative staff.
