Position Overview


The Shoreline Power Group is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon, United and SNC-Lavalin. Shoreline Power Group will be completing the Fuel Channel and Feeder Replacement (FCFR) project. The joint venture has been awarded a contract by Bruce Power to execute the Unit 6 and Unit 3 FCFR at the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station in Kincardine, Ontario. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064, the project is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program to replace the main components of the reactor. Unit 6 is the first of six reactors being replaced by Bruce Power through the MCR program. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders for Unit 6 and Unit 3, as well as construction management and trade labor.


Under the general direction of the Construction Technical Lead, the Trade General Foreperson, Logistics will assist in the planning, coordination and scheduling of construction activities on project construction site and/or supervise a small construction project in compliance with the contract and the job cost estimate and ensures all the work is completed safely to acceptable standards of quality and workmanship.


What You Will Do Here


  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
  • Interface between project management, engineering, and construction teams to resolve design issues, delays, interferences, non-conformances, and material issues.
  • Responsible for the planning, shipping and scheduling of material handling equipment (NHE).
  • Plan complex construction activities with consideration for safety, quality, schedule, and cost at all phases of the Bruce Main Component Replacement Project.
  • Participate in the daily and weekly review and update of project schedule and forecast.
  • Assist in developing recovery strategies when project schedule or budget are in jeopardy.
  • Ensure compliance with union obligations.
  • Participate in basic layout, preparation of work instructions, field engineering activities, etc.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Maintain lines and levels – verify as built conditions.
  • Have experience in multidisciplinary (structural, piping, and electrical) construction projects in nuclear and express a strong nuclear safety culture is an asset.
  • Utilize project master schedule to create detailed look ahead schedules for foreman and subcontractor use.
  • Provide constructability input in engineering design review meetings and oversee the compliance to engineered drawings and technical specifications.


What You Will Bring To The Team


  • Knowledge of all aspects of construction such as; technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling and safety requirements.
  • Hoisting and rigging knowledge to create lift plans with high standards.
  • Education to include a technical college diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Good communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with planning, shipping, scheduling of material handling equipment (NHE) considered an asset.
  • Basic presentation skills.
  • Minimum 2 years construction and subcontractor supervision experience; preference to individuals with a civil background.
