The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of British Columbia Vancouver campus invites candidates to apply for a lecturer position with a specialization in entrepreneurial engineering. This is a full-time appointment for an initial term of up to three years, including a probationary first year. Lecturer positions are appointments without review (non-tenure-track), renewable for successive terms, subject to availability of funds and demonstration of excellence in teaching and service, in accordance with the Collective Agreement between UBC and the UBC Faculty Association. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2023, but is negotiable.


The successful candidate will develop and teach project-based courses in both the Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering programs, with a particular emphasis on senior Capstone projects. In addition, the successful candidate will provide service to the department in various capacities, such as developing and strengthening industrial relationships, providing leadership in the area of entrepreneurship and/or developing/demonstrating pedagogical innovations, especially as related to senior-level Capstone project courses.


Applicants must have demonstrated excellence in teaching upper-year project courses in electrical and computer engineering. Applicants must hold a P.Eng. designation with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia. Ideal applicants would have significant industry and/or entrepreneurship experience, and will normally have one or more graduate degrees in a relevant discipline.
