Responsibilities

• Managing weekly new student intake: giving Orientation Sessions and assigning students to the

corresponding class in the online learning platform.

• Observing the LMS is functioning properly with the activities in place.
• Developing material for the online learning platform (continuous development of the curriculum).
• Daily monitoring of student body and classes: ensuring that students are attending class on time,

monitoring and reporting lateness and absences as needed, checking that all teachers are in class and

teaching at the scheduled time, paying attention to board work of teachers and language of students

when passing by classes to look for any potential problems. Supervise students’ behaviour according

to school policies.

• Tracking students’ progress, making a study plan, and making sure student is progressing as expected

to advance to a different course of study as needed.

• Communicating with the Pathways coordinator regularly to provide student transcripts, and academic

documents required by Pathways partners.

• Curriculum design, including reviewing and updating or creating academic materials such as class

syllabi, Pathways outlines, and written policies.

• The lead teacher should offer insight and coaching, particularly to newer or less experienced

teachers. Common areas requiring attention are making sure teachers adhere to a CLT

(Communicative Language Teaching) style as our pedagogy.

• Overseeing the assessment process for all instructors including internal and external verification

processes.

• Participating in professional development activities and programs as required by

• Maintaining good communication with administrative staff in order to properly track student records

and success.

• Organizing meetings and activities with other organizations /institutions for students of certain

programs (e.g. Business English Program)

• Completing other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Effective communicator
• Proactive about own development and the job
• Minimum TESL 1 certificate and/or CELTA required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ full-time teaching experience
• Professional appearance
• Degree in Education, Linguistics, Pedagogy or equivalent required
• Positive and flexible attitude
• TESL 2, CELTA, DELTA or MA in TESOL or Applied Linguistics is an asset
