Lead Estimator / Estimating Manager

Project: The scheme involves multiple transit lines, new and existing stations, bridges and tunnels.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Preparing and maintaining cost data utilizing the computerized database.
• Preparing orders of magnitude, conceptual, feasibility, pre-design, budget, value engineering, control, definitive and final engineers estimate plus estimates for major change orders and claims.
• Obtaining pricing quotes from suppliers, and for organizing, controlling, and maintaining the section's contract documents, files and records.
• Updating computerized estimating historical database. Preparing various estimate variance report spreadsheets and estimate status reports.
• Liaising with project staff as well as staff from other departments, external vendors/suppliers, consultants, etc. to obtain information pertinent to areas of responsibility.
• Analysing and report cost breakdowns and price schedules submitted by consultants/contractors.
• Reviewing and commenting on foreign cost estimates to ensure accuracy, comprehensiveness and consistency with estimating guidelines.
• Classifying quantity surveys from construction drawings and specifications.
• Preparing cost variance reports, tender comparisons, post bid analyses, cost reduction strategies and recommendations.

About You

You have a degree in engineering or construction management. You have experience in senior estimating. A Certified Construction Estimator (CEC) or possess a similar designation. You have years of transit-related experience. Estimating experience of capital works projects more than $500M. You have a professional designation such as PQS, CEC and Gold Seal are considered an asset.

You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams. You will have experience working in project management or construction background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
