Job Description

Senior Embedded Software Developer - Leader and Architect


The senior embedded software developer is a part of an agile development team and is responsible for the documentation, architecture, and implementation of complex flight software modules for various space applications, including communications and satellites.


Responsibilities:



  • Interact with clients and participate in estimating new projects.
  • Define requirements and architecture.
  • Collaborate with a team to design, code, test, and maintain integrated flight software using the development tool suite.
  • Work with an agile team as a technical leader.
  • Lead the development of team members: conduct one-on-one meetings, act as a coach, provide performance feedback.
  • Support flight code integration and testing within flight units.
  • Support software process automation.
  • Diagnose bugs and issues in the laboratory.
  • Support formal documentation in a multidisciplinary team environment (systems, digital, RF).
  • Act as a leader in continuous improvement initiatives.


Requirements:

  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Networking and communication protocol experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or equivalent.
  • Leadership in an agile environment.
  • Programming in C, C++, Python.
  • Experience with version control systems such as GIT.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in embedded software development.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).



Desirable Criteria:



  • Experience with VectorCast.
  • RF systems experience.
  • Experience with Visual Studio or Eclipse.
  • Knowledge of CCSDS, MIL-STD-1553.
  • Knowledge of satellite communication standards like DVB-S2X.
  • Experience in embedded Linux.
  • Familiarity with protocols like CAN bus and SpaceWire.
  • Experience in formal software development (requirements, design, testing).
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Proficiency in English (French is a plus).
