Embedded Software Designer

Cattron is a leader in the field of wireless control systems for industrial machinery and locomotives.  Our development team designs most hardware and software residing in the control interfaces for the operators, as well as the control equipment installed on the machines.  
We are looking for an experienced developer to play a key role in the design, development, and maintenance of on-board software for our locomotive control systems.  To a lesser extent, you will also be involved in the maintenance and creation of PC tools for systems configuration and tests.

Your responsibilities  
· Design and develop embedded software for safety-critical applications  
· Develop test methods (unit tests, integration tests, fault tolerance tests, performance tests, etc.).  
· Partner with development team to ensure successful integration of software on embedded systems.
· Assist in the identification and resolution of embedded software issues;  
· Write technical documentation for software development and maintenance (design and architecture);  
· Maintain PC software tools for systems test and configuration;
· Support internal or external customers in resolving technical issues.

Requirements
· B.A. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software or related field
· 5-8 years experience in embedded applications development in C/C++  
· Experience with embedded real-time operating systems (RTOS)
· Experience with different families of 32-bit microcontrollers
· Ability to use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeter and others for hardware/software integration testing.
· Working knowledge of low-level communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN
· Ability to analyze and understand digital and analog electronic schematics.
· Experience with Visual Studio C++ for PC applications  
· Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing, and propose effective solutions
· Excellent English and French (spoken and written)

Considered as assets
· Software development experience for safety-critical systems such as EN50128, IEC61508, EN13849
· Experience in projects integrating wireless communication technologies
· Working knowledge of TCP/IP family protocols
· Experience with Git version control, Delphi and Linux
