AGAT Laboratories is currently looking for a Laboratory Technician A to join our High Res team working out of our Calgary location. The successful candidate will be able to work independently on laboratory activities with responsibility for maintaining instruments and equipment used in the lab. It is expected that this position is able to work independently, with direction from the Laboratory Manager.

Duties:

• Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Calibrate, operate, maintain, troubleshoot and conduct routine maintenance on all assigned instruments.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Compile, verify and validate accurate data records.
• Meet quality assurance and turnaround specifications.
• Report results.
• Perform sample, reagent and calibration preparation as directed.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of full laboratory processes.
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
• Degree or diploma in Science or equivalent experience required
• Able to operate, troubleshoot and maintain analytical instruments.
• 3+ years laboratory experience
• Ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment.
• Intermediate computer skills

Work Environment:

This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. PPE is required where applicable.
