Job Description

Canadian Energy Services & Technology Corp is a leading provider of technically advanced consumable chemical solutions throughout the life-cycle of the oilfield.


PureChem Services (http://purechemservices.com/), division of CES provides products to the Drilling Fluids, Production Chemical, Stimulation and Fracturing industries.


The PureChem Services laboratory in Drayton Valley is focused on customer support, product selection, product development and special technical projects. Our lab is equipped with a growing variety of equipment and instrumentation focused primarily on sample analysis and product performance testing.


The Lab Technician will cover assorted oil field testing in the laboratory environment with occasional field work being required. Working in a fast-paced dynamic environment, the duties of the Lab Technician may include (depending on experience level):


  • Report writing.
  • QC testing of raw materials and products.
  • Bench testing of field samples.
  • Analytical testing.
  • Trouble-shooting of technical problems.
  • Technical support for our full product range.
  • Field testing and support.
  • Making and testing lab batches of new and existing products.
  • R&D of new products.


The right candidate will have a proven track record encompassing the following qualifications and skills:


  • Relevant industry or related experience may be considered in place of formal training.
  • Strong computer and writing skills are preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants with a science background and/or some level of post-secondary technical training.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with MS Excel and Word.
  • Strong statistical analysis skills.
