Junior Supply Planner
Permanent, FT
BILINGUAL (FRENCH) PEFERRED
Laval, QC (hybrid)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain an adequate stock level while handling and executing purchasing decisions
- Establish, manage, and maintain effective supplier relationships
- Track and maintain order status; ETAs, quantities, keeping our database up to date
- Ensure goods, materials, and components are purchased according to specified delivery and cost targets
- Assist the department functions in pursuing ongoing process and improvement goals
- Interface with suppliers, inventory, marketing, sales, and finance departments
- Coordinate transportation to ensure prompt and proper shipment movement
- Establish the landed cost according to the company parameters in an optimal manner
- Prepare and raise purchase orders based on demand forecasts
- Manage all import documents before sending them to the customs broker for clearance
- Contact suppliers to resolve issues relating to price, quality, delivery, or invoices
- Compile data on supplier performance for assessment
- Responsible for communicating any issues with supply that may affect business operations
- Prepare reports and updates as needed
- Monitor and advise on any issues presenting a risk or opportunity to the organization
- Negotiate the transport costs with freight forwarders
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in relevant field
· Relevant experience preferred (3 years)
· Capable of creating and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and suppliers
· Data management and manipulation skills in line with business goals
· Analytical - carefully arranges information and has aptitude for numbers
· Strong computer skills (Suite Microsoft office - Excel, Word)
· Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills
· Able to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and achieve set targets
· Knowledge of the function's implications from a commercial and financial perspective
· Able to work under pressure and stressful situations
· Accuracy and keen attention to detail
· Familiarity with SAP would be beneficial
· Good knowledge of Import and export processes and documentation (an asset)
