Major Duties


  • Plot and compile Mechanical design shop packages and process Mechanical Spare Parts orders.
  • Organize and prepare documentation according to customer standards
  • Coordinate and prepare complete Mechanical and Controls design documentation to specified standards for ATS’ customers and internal records using, 2D or SolidWorks and custom data management software.


Specific Responsibilities


  • Provide print room support (loading paper, sorting material, printer cartridge replacement, etc.).
  • Effectively organize, prioritize and complete daily tasks with some supervision.
  • Manage the filing and transmission of all engineering related documentation related to construction of CSA B51 and CSA N285.0 pressure boundary components within the ATS Certificate of Authorization.
  • Strictly follow CSA N285/NQA Quality requirements as defined within the manual and procedures
  • Liaise with and take instructions from Senior Documentation Coordinators to establish tasks and workflows.
  • Prioritize, schedule and complete full customer drawing conversions to ATS or customer format for Mechanical and Controls Engineering drawing packages as per ISO procedures and work instructions.
  • Maintain electronic data filing systems, ensuring that data is organized and properly stored and extraneous files have been removed.
  • Print and/or compile complete hard copy and electronic Mechanical documentation packages.
  • Suggest improvements that may help and/or improve job and departmental day-to-day operation.
  • Liaise with Mechanical and Controls designers to solve major drawing errors/additions/revisions.
  • Review the quality of drawings and ensure they are prepared to ATS and/or customer standards.
  • Review and interpret customer drawing specifications.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
  • Set up and maintain department vacation spreadsheet and attendance records if required by Senior Documentation Coordinator.
  • Communicate drawing specifications to the Mechanical and Controls designers (e.g. title blocks, text size, layering conventions, no draw zones, etc.).
  • Perform minor drawing additions/revisions as related to drawing conversions.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and procedures.


Qualifications


Education:


  • A minimum grade 12 diploma. Engineering technician or technologist diploma.


Experience/Skills:


  • Computer proficiency with MS Windows and applications such as MS Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems
  • Basic knowledge of Solidworks (primarily drawings utilities).
  • Blueprint reading.
  • For the optional programming part, 2 years demonstrated expertise in C# .NET programming.
