ABC Canada is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer with experience in logistics to join our team at an internationally recognized vertically integrated OEM manufacturer based in Canada. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our supply chain management, ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services needed for our manufacturing operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand production requirements, including forecasting, demand planning, and inventory management.
•Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions, and establish long-term supplier relationships to support the organization's logistical needs.
•Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
•Monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and adherence to contractual agreements.
•Coordinate logistics activities, such as transportation, customs clearance, and warehousing, to optimize the supply chain and minimize lead times.
•Manage import and export documentation, including permits, licenses, and customs requirements.
•Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends, identifying potential cost savings and efficiency improvement opportunities.
•Work closely with the logistics team to ensure smooth coordination of inbound and outbound shipments.
•Assist in resolving supplier-related issues, including quality concerns, delivery delays, and invoice discrepancies.
•Maintain accurate procurement records and generate reports as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
•Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
•Prior experience in procurement and logistics, preferably within a manufacturing or OEM environment.
•Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, purchasing processes, and logistics management.
•Familiarity with import/export regulations and documentation.
•Proficiency in using procurement soware and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
•Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
•Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
•Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
•Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure.
