Iot Embedded Systems Engineer

Xandar Kardian is looking for a talented IoT Embedded Systems expert to join our growing engineering team. You will be focused on designing, developing, debugging, and deploying firmware that powers our IoT devices.

Responsibilities:

Software/Hardware Development:

• Software/hardware development for system integration.
• Work with our existing team to deliver advanced IoT, including work on low level peripheral driver development that leverages any low-end to high-end microcontrollers.
• Be the subject matter expert in communication protocols, for example:
• Create engineering documents for manual, product development policies, practices, and procedures.
• Active engagement in the design and develop new IoT software/hardware.
• Edge Access Protocols: Wi-Fi, Ethernet, PoE, Cellular, Bluetooth, LPWAN
• Meticulous software/hardware product testing, debugging, and improving.
• Partner with R&D team to drive the Edge and Gateway IoT development strategy and architecture.
• Software/hardware development for building automation such as lighting control and HVAC system through BACnet, REST APIs, GPIO, Modbus, etc.
• Drive Iterative Scoping and Definition, System Design, Coding development in Embedded C, Board Bring-Up and Validation of Assembled Boards.
• Developing, maintaining, and improving IoT device hardware/software mainly responsible for connectivity such as Wi-Fi, BLE, LPWAN, and PoE.
• Shape and define the architecture and development strategy for the IoT device SDK.
• IoT Protocols: UART, GPIO, I2C, PWM, RS-232, RS-485 / MQTT, HTTPS, REST APIs

Problem Solving:

• Provide the technical insights to the team/clients for their training, troubleshooting, and development and to solve issues that arise in our customer engagements globally with the goal of ensuring customer delight.
• Troubleshooting for solving in-house and on-site issues especially related to connectivity of Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or LPWAN.
• Software/hardware maintenance/development mainly for managing the connectivity of the gateway and sensor.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Experience with RTOS, interface libraries USB/UART drivers.
• Ability to forecast technical risk for a project or engagement.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with embedded C firmware development and Linux programming.
• Good communication skills with a track record of making impactful and effective design presentations is desired.
• Attitude of thoroughness in requirement gathering, design and validation of the design with strong pride in delivering well thought out and rigorously tested solutions.
• Experience with memory, power, speed optimized applications.
• Experience with code/project sharing and co-development through Git.
• Fluency in Korean and English
• Good understanding on network of Wi-Fi, BLE, and LPWAN and architecture of Linux, MCUS, and peripherals.
• Good programming ability and competence in any middle or high-level programming language such as C++, Python, Visual Studio.
• Ability to create thorough test cases for complex embedded applications.
• Experience with over-the-air upgrades to the software and firmware of an embedded systems.
• Bachelors engineering degree or higher in a relevant discipline (Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics).

Preferred:

• Strong understanding of compiler, linker, and development tools like code composer/cross composer/MP Lab, etc.
• Experience working in a product development company focused on IoT sensor device.
• Experience with Raspbian.
• Experience with ESP32 Wi-Fi board.
• Experience with peripheral driver development with bare metal coding for Microcontroller/processor.
• Proficient with edge computing principals and architecture.
• Hands on experience debugging communication protocols using instruments/analyzers.
