Job Description
The Investment Banking Analyst role at Stifel FirstEnergy is both challenging and stimulating. At the early stages of their career, Analysts focus on maintaining/updating databases, client presentations, research, and financial modeling, As the individual’s career progresses, Analysts will be expected to take on increased responsibilities including managing live transactions and interacting with clients.

Summary
The Investment Banking Analyst will be in charge of supporting the investment banking team with tasks that may include:
  • Assisting in the generation of marketing materials including introductory presentations and confidential information memorandums.
  • Development of financial models related to company/asset valuations, capital raises, and merger and acquisition transactions;
  • Marketing, executing and structuring investment banking mandates focused on strategic and capital markets transactions;
  • Maintain proprietary databases including precedent transactions and market comparable;
  • Analysis of financial, industry and market data;
  • Preparation of internal and external client presentations; and
Qualifications
A high regard for detail and accuracy are essential. The role of the Investment Banking Analyst is challenging and fast-paced. It requires dedication, passion for the industry, and a solid work ethic.
Educational credentials should consist of an undergraduate degree in business, with a focus on finance and a CFA or CPA designation or the pursuit of a CFA or CPA designation.
  • Summer/co-op or full-time work experience in corporate finance, investment banking, accounting or private equity is beneficial;
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word;
  • High degree of work ethic and motivation, including a willingness to work long hours;
  • A track record of taking initiative;
  • Ability to work in an open office and team environment;
  • A strong interest in and understanding of financial markets.
  • Strong financial/analytical skills related to corporate finance and securities analysis;
  • A demonstrated proficiency in problem solving; and
  • Experience with financial markets software and applications including Bloomberg, FactSet and Capital IQ;
