Intern, Cyber Security & Privacy - Security Architecture

Make an impact with our Cyber Security & Privacy Security Architecture team as an Intern. This diverse team of tech-savvy problem solvers enables clients to take a proactive and prepared approach to cyber crime and capitalize on new technologies and innovations. As a trusted advisor, you’ll investigate threats, develop policies and enhance infrastructure to minimize the impact of security-related events and protect clients’ business operations and reputation.
For over 10 years, MNPs’ Cyber team has been supporting students going through co-op programs, with many of these Interns accepting full time opportunities with MNP after their program had ended. As part of the co-op experience, you will be exposed to a variety of different areas of Cyber Security including Risk Management, Security Architecture, Offensive Security & Incident Management and Privacy & Data Protection. We will provide you with foundational skills so you can go on to build your experience to investigate threats, develop policies and enhance infrastructure to minimize the impact of security-related events.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
• Monitor and resolve incidents and support requests; ensure response/resolution within service level agreement (SLA) targets
• Investigate assigned tickets; responsible for the task until it has been completed/resolved
• Notify clients of any potential problems in their environment
• Work with both clients and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Maintain monitoring software to ensure proper functionality of all managed devices
• Maintain reporting software to provide valuable information to clients
• Update ticket information and associated documentation
• Attend internal MNP courses to further develop knowledge around performance improvement

Skills And Experience

• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Experience with the following technologies would be beneficial: Check Point, Palo Alto, RSA, Ironport, Cisco, Brocade, IronPort, RSA, Gemalto, Aruba, Forcepoint, Proofpoint
• Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends
• Posses a Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline
• Experience with Microsoft operating systems, applications and tools
