Job Description
On behalf of our client, Procom is looking for an Intermediate Scrum Master for a one year contract. The role is based in Calgary, with a hybrid work model. The team is split between Calgary and Sparwood, with most of the work being done remotely and occasional in-person sessions. The ability to travel is a must.


Intermediate Scrum Master Job Details:

Intermediate Scrum Master


  • Providing team leadership, guidance, and mentoring in Agile.
  • Participating in field work and user research.
  • Being a safety leader, adhering to and sponsoring safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Assisting with adopting strategies as part of an Agile Team.
  • Leading and facilitating key Agile ceremonies as appropriate to the unique needs of the team.
  • Managing and navigating changes in direction, including priorities and expectations, to ensure successful completion of sprint sessions.
  • Identifying and removing roadblocks and distractions that affect sprint commitments and prevent delivering of product features.
  • Maintaining metrics using project management tools to provide visibility on product level plans, progress, and quality assurance.
  • Managing communication to improve transparency and disseminate information.
  • Facilitating on-the-job learning of essential concepts and tools that promote the adoption of modern service delivery and transformation within Teck.
  • Enabling the Agile Team to become self-organized and empowered to deliver consistently on sprint session commitments.


Intermediate Scrum Master Required Skills:


  • Experience with Scrum across teams with different products and Agile approaches (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and experience helping teams choose the right approach to meet their unique needs.
  • Proven ability creating journey maps and service blueprints or other visual representations of user needs.
  • Experience with Agile product management tools, Azure DevOps, JIRA, and MIRO being highly desired.
  • Working level Spanish would be an asset.
  • Valid class five driver’s license, with a clean abstract. Comfortable driving on winter roads in remote areas.
  • Familiarity with documents such as RASCIs, Operational Readiness Checklists, Business Impact Analysis, Impact & Urgency Matrix, Service Level Objectives, support model workflow diagrams, etc. is not required but considered beneficial.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel to client operations in North and South America.
  • Experience in modern analytical tools such as Tableau, Looker, Spotfire, or Power BI would be an asset.
  • A critical thinker with experience in business analysis, project management, and organizational change management skills.
  • Experience moving through projects shifting focus from small details to understanding the whole system and the relationship between them.
  • Current, Industry recognized Scrum Master Certification.
  • Experience using human-centered design approaches.
  • 3-9 years of meaningful work experience with Agile and Scrum in any capacity.
This position requires accessible, teamwork-oriented, problem-solving, and communication skills.
