In this newly created role, you will support marketing and company objectives by driving results through content. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, you will collaborate with various business leaders and stakeholders to build, execute and continuously source new ideas to support Opta’s content strategy for digital and non-digital channels. This is a hybrid position in our Head Office in Markham, ON.
In This Role You’ll
  • Collaborate with SEO consultants to integrate high-volume keywords into web copy with an aim to attract organic traffic
  • Ensure written content aligns with strategic goals and organizational culture
  • Provide quality control of materials produced by the organization, ensuring consistency of style and accuracy of grammar
  • Conduct research and interviews with thought leaders to learn more about current trends, developments, and perceptions about the subject matter, and then contextualizing your findings
  • Assist in developing copy for new and enhanced product launches as well as marketing plans to support specific objectives
  • Instill a copywriting center of excellence, reviewing and providing feedback on copy across key marketing deliverables and crafting top-level copy aligned with Opta’s brand voice and messaging guidelines.
  • Measure success through lead generation and organic traffic growth.
  • Create clear, concise and engaging content ranging from internal communications to external blog articles, eblasts, thought-leadership material, video and infographics, case studies, social marketing, on-page SEO and other projects as necessary.
  • Maintain training material and presentations on products, sales concepts and other marketing opportunities
  • Solve editorial issues and process bottlenecks, and proactively identify and anticipate opportunities (for campaigns and projects) where positioning and/or language could be improved

Requirements
  • Strong listening and communication skills.
  • Success in providing marketing support to a sales organization
  • Creative and forward thinking
  • Excellent research, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Degree in Marketing, PR or related discipline
  • The capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
  • A moderate understanding of the Canadian property insurance industry is a must
  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in content marketing
  • Experience creating strong, engaging content
  • Goal oriented and internally motivated
  • Proven ability to manage projects and juggle a diverse workload while meeting all deadlines.
  • Comprehensive understanding of SEO best practices
