Job Description

COMPANY PROFILE

Lightenco is an award-winning energy management company that provides turnkey lighting solutions to commercial and multi-residential clients. . Based in Ottawa and primarily serving the Ontario and Quebec regions, Lightenco was founded in 2011 on principles of environmental stewardship.

SUMMARY OF INSTALLATION LEADER POSITION

This position with Lightenco will be a permanent position, with an expected 40 hours per week most weeks.

In this role, the successful applicant would be leading LED lighting retrofits in customers’ buildings, including but not limited mutli-residential, commercial, industrial and recreational facilities (sports fields/arenas, etc.).

This position would require regular travel from the company’s headquarters in Ottawa to service projects in Ottawa to Kingston and surrounding areas.

Typical work week is Monday-Friday, 8-10 hours/day depending on the project. Occasional evening/night work is rare, but may be required. Travel to sites outside of Ottawa often requires leaving Sunday evening and returning Friday.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Provides project updates to the team and communicates any issues using Teams chats
  • Cleans at the end of an installation leaving the premises without any old material (lamps, controls, bulbs, fixtures, electric material)
  • Aims to accomplish installation efficiently while providing the best possible service to the customers on site
  • Physically installs the new equipment in the customer premises
  • Maintains the company’s equipment at its best condition.
  • Helps receiving, shipping and controlling the product to be installed in several projects
  • Prioritizes safety of yourself, coworkers, subcontractors and customers; ensures the proper installation of the material
  • Manages the installation of lighting or related projects alongside certified electricians, from unloading material to
  • Provides service to Warranty calls.
  • Assists in other business functions when not installing projects, including lighting audits for potential customers, deliveries, project management, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Communication
  • Customer Service
  • Fluency in English is mandatory
  • G License with a clean driver’s abstract is mandatory and vehicle
  • Working at Heights Training would be an asset and can be provided
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate would be an asset
  • Problem Solving
  • Scissor Lift/Aerial Boom Operator License would be an asset and can be provided

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work on ladders / scissor lifts / booms at various heights
  • Ability to work with light / medium tools – cordless drill, hammer, screwdrivers, sockets etc.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

  • Salary based on experience
  • Travel expenses outside of Ottawa will be covered, including hotel, gas and $35/day for food.
  • Optional Group Benefits and Insurance covered 50% by the company if brought on in a full-time, permanent capacity.
