Home Day Care Home Visitor

Our client is looking for a Home Visitor to join their team! Our client is the largest home day care system in Canada with over 30 years of experience in monitoring, supporting and assessing Licensed Home Day Cares. This position is working with the Franchise in the Kitchener area.

This role will work closely with providers, the agency and parents. This includes visiting Home Day Cares to ensure that they meet legal regulations, nutritional standards and proper programs for the age and stage of the childs development. A Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) is required.

Compensation:

$23.00 per hour (plus additional wage enhancement grant of $2.00)

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm

Travel:

This position will require travel through the Kitchener, Cambridge and Waterloo area

Responsibilities

• Perform unannounced visits to the provider on a regular basis to interact with the children to ensure their needs are being met in a safe manner, a program is in place and all regulations are being followed.
• Coach providers on best practices and child development, as well as provide overall guidance.
• Complete both internal and external checklists, including from the Ministry of Education.
• Document the results, make recommendations and follow-up on areas of deficiencies.
• Provide referrals to agencies and supporting parents as requested.
• Ensure Serious Occurrence Procedures are in place and respond to serious occurrences as required.
• Responsibility for annual reviews, planning workshops and other related tasks.
• Maintain all requirements of the RECE designation.
• Complete orientations for new enrollments.

Requirements

• RECE Designation with 2+ years in the industry or in a day care.
• Office experience is a strong asset.
• Must have your own car and a valid drivers license.
• Organized with good communication is key.
• Detail oriented and a comfortable level with significant amounts of paperwork is important.
• Must be comfortable and enjoy being around and working with children.
