This position offers a hybrid work schedule.


The Role:

Reporting to the AVP, Innovation, the Head, Data & Insights role will be an integral part of a new, centralized Data & Insights team. The role will be responsible for managing a multi-functional team dedicated to the implementation of Farm Mutual Re’s Data & Insights enablement strategy. The incumbent will be instrumental in developing the foundational elements to enhance Farm Mutual Re’s existing data structure and capabilities.


The successful candidate can expect to:


  • Work closely with cross-functional Data owners and champions to identify pilot requirements in support of Farm Mutual Re’s organizational strategy
  • Manage a multi-functional Data & Insights team, hiring new key team members to establish additional organizational capabilities
  • Support the assessment and evolution of current data flow to overcome limitations from external dependencies
  • Align Data & Insights discipline with cross-functional technical team members on a unified platform and set of tools that support the future state of organizational needs in data
  • Develop templates and documentation for a data catalogue, a data quality framework, and a data governance structure


Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or another related field
  • You have experience in Agile methodologies, focused on leveraging a build-measure-learn approach to delivering Data & Insights outcomes
  • You have deep knowledge and expertise, data modelling and analysis, and ideally an understanding of insurance operations
  • You have strong problem solving, research, quantitative skills, and working knowledge of cloud platforms, data architectures, and tools
  • You have experience in a leadership role, with at least 5 years of experience in fields related to data management and insights, preferably within the Insurance industry
