Are you interested in joining one of the world's foremost specialty aerospace and defence contractors? Adecco is currently seeking an experiencedGround Support Equipment Technician, for a full-time, permanent position at a leading Canadian specialty aerospace and defence company in Abbotsford, BC. In this role, you will perform inspections and repairs of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and carries out mechanical maintenance on company vehicles.
- Good general handyman skills: able to use a variety of tools
- Remove GSE units from service if deemed to be defective, unsafe or in need of repair;
- Document repairs effectively.
- Undertake visual mechanical inspection of all GSE according to the pre-determined schedule, including but not limited to scissor lifts, boom lifts, tugs, fuel trucks, dollies, scaffolding, forklifts and hydraulic jacks;
- Disassemble affected components of the GSE, repair or replace components, and reassemble;
- Repair, weld, and replace parts on GSE as needed;
- Ensure all co-workers are made aware of hazardous materials being handled around them;
- Ensure proper safety equipment such as proper gloves, respirators and eye and ear protection are worn when handling hazardous materials;
- Complete support documentation to record inspections completed;
- Ensure all maintenance work tasks are performed in accordance with the company health and safety policies and procedures. Be familiar with and ensure that all workplace conduct is in accordance with Human Resources safety and security policies and procedures.
- Pick up parts at relevant supplier if necessary;

- Strong understanding of all mechanical processes and procedures.
- Identify maintenance needs according to the schedule or inspection;
- Ensure all safety policies and procedures are adhered to when operating equipment and machinery. Requirements and Qualifications:
- Report findings to Facilities Crew Leader.
- Location: Abbotsford, BC
- Ability to manage multiple assigned tasks to ensure they are completed on time

- Complete all repairs needed unless the vehicle is under factory warranty;
- Excellent communication skills: fluent written and verbal English is mandatory

- Take vehicles to the insurance company as necessary to make claims.
- Work with a leading company that values employee retention and engagement
- Perform regular maintenance checks every two weeks, which includes but is not limited to checking the oil, water, brakes, lights, beacons, windshield, and tire pressure;
- Heavy Duty Mechanic and/or Diesel experience would be an asset
- 3 Weeks paid vacation
- 3 to 5 years of experience carrying out automotive or commercial equipment maintenance, including inspection and repair of brakes
- Job type: Full-time | Permanent Advantages:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with general mechanical work
- Wash company vehicles at least once per month;
- Pay Rate: $32.19 - $35.25 / Hour
- Request parts needed to carry out the repairs;
- Repair all GSE.

- Perform mechanical maintenance of company vehicles.
- Certificate in Automotive Mechanics and/or Welding; Forklift, Scissor Lift and Boom Lift
- Shifts: Monday - Friday | 8 AM - 5 PM
