Overview

We are an aggregate crushing company with quarries and rock pits across the Okanagan. We offer superior asphalt, concrete and road based aggregate products for commercial and

residential projects.

Lafarge Okanagan is hiring an Gravel Truck Driver in order to transport goods and materials urban and highway routes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure safe loading and unloading of cargo.
• Administer bills of lading and manually or electronically maintain log books.
• Communication with dispatcher, other drivers and customers using communication devices and
• On-board computers.
• Follow safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Deliver gravel with single truck, truck & pup or truck & quad, as dispatch requires.
• May perform emergency roadside repairs.
• Perform pre-trip, on route and post trip inspection of vehicle systems and oversee all aspect of vehicle such as conditions of equipment.
• Other duties as needed.
• Understand and follow all Department of Transportation/WRQ Standards for securing gravel.

Qualifications

Class 1 Drivers License

Experience

Previous Experience in similar role an asset

Other

Class 1 - Air Brakes

Must have clean driving record and provide drivers abstract.
