Job Purpose

JYZ Design is looking to grow and we are looking for people to grow with us. This position will support the day-to-day work with supervision from a manager. The position will involve designing the frontend of websites using Figma, creating ads in Illustrator/Photoshop and developing brand identities. All our team members get to dip their toes in a variety of tasks and roles, so the more you have to bring to the table, the better. Who We're Looking For

You're passionate and willing to learn. You might have some experience in the industry, with lots of ideas to share. You’re native to technology – learning new software comes naturally to you. You're constantly in tune with trends on web design, how all the top brands in the world are streamlining digital experiences to reach customers. You're organized and are comfortable with most computer applications.

Requirements

• Attending client meetings and taking notes
• Versatile with design styles, but mostly looking for: modern and slick – please make sure your portfolio includes this
• Comfortable with picking up the phone and answering common client questions
• Attention to detail and ability to follow a regiment workflow
• Up to date with what's new and trendy in web design
• A desire to work with designers, art directors, project managers and other writers
• Team player with strong communication skills
• A history of innovation, creativity and delivering results
• Ability to stay agile, be self motivated to learn
• Works to optimize speed of work
• Ability to self-edit as well as work of others
• Constant curiosity for marketing optimization and where it fits into the clients' business
• Knowledgable of good responsive designs
• Experience editing videos, using templates and custom animations
• Comfortable with UI standards
• Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a high-activity work environment
• Well organized approach to a variety of project work

Software Knowledge Required (Training can provided)

• Canva
• Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign
• Adobe Aftereffects
• Figma

Assets

• SEO knowledge
• Web design and layout
• Any other creative ability such as photo sourcing, sizing, video editing, writing, etc.
• Experience with elementor or other WP builders
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs

Required

• Be either a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or a protected person defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
• Please include an easy to access PORTFOLIO, or you will automatically be disqualified.
• Not be an international student, even with a work permit.

• Partially remote and in office (new office in Inglewood)
• The contract will start in late August/early September
