Graphic Design and Asset Specialist
The Design Specialist, reporting to the Senior Manager, Creative Services is responsible for the design and layout of a variety of internal-facing and external corporate materials.
This may include digital signage, brochures, interactive PDFs, motion graphics and more – all created to be visually-captivating, on-message and on-brand.
This individual will also be responsible for contributing graphic and design content across several key internal and external platforms, including flip (the company intranet) and Loblaw.ca, and creating content and assisting in the scheduling for digital signage. They will contribute to maintaining photos and graphics in Assetful, the company’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) system.
Responsibilities include:
Design and layout of a wide range materials including digital signage, print, interactive PDFs, motion graphics and video.
Determine the medium best suited to the task and the appropriate vehicle for communication.
Create print-ready and digital design projects
Act as a subject matter on brand standards for Loblaw and its various brands, and ensure these standards are upheld in all design work.
Collaborate with stakeholders to clearly communicate concepts and ideas, maintain open dialog, and ensure all design needs are met and delivered on time and on budget.
Work with the Senior Manager Creative Services and Design and/or Asset Manager to ensure that content is AODA-compliant, as required.
Gather images for images for flip.ca, loblaw.ca, Yammer and other internal channels.
Create digital signage content and templates or review submitted content to ensure it meets branding guidelines and expected functionality.
Leverage and maintain the new DAM tool (Assetful) to support the enterprise with easy, searchable access to our images and logos
Ensure all assets available within the DAM are current, relevant, on-brand and permissible.
Requirements:
Formal education in Graphic Design
2+ years of graphic design experience
Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite on the Mac platform
Excellent time-management and the ability to meet often-tight deadlines
Excellent project management and organization skills
Excellent collaboration skills
Ability to quickly react to and adapt to sudden changes with initiative and creativity
Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager and Stratacache or similar digital signage software is an asset
Proficiency in Adobe Aftereffects is an asset
Knowledge and experience in accessible design (AODA) is an asset
