Job Description
:Geotechnical Engineer
We are currently seeking a Geotechnical Engineer project role Within the Edmonton office. This Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for projects including foundations, infrastructure and transportation, land development, and slope stability assessment.
This role will require site visits to Alberta and British Columbia.
Requirements
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and conduct surface and subsurface site investigations, such as borehole logging and soil/rock sampling
  • Conduct geotechnical engineering analyses, including design of shallow and deep foundations and slope stability modeling
  • Prepare geotechnical engineering reports based on investigations and analyses
Qualifications And Skills
  • Have familiarity with current geotechnical software applications
  • Be willing to travel for field duties and have a company vehicle and other specific support equipment provided
  • Be able to work independently and cooperatively with a team in various settings, including secondary office locations
  • Have previous experience with site investigations to assess site suitability for development (plant sites, subdivisions, buildings, pavement designs)
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective and respectful working relationships with internal and external project members and clients
  • Have 3+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, prior experience in consulting engineering is an asset
  • Registered as an Professional Engineer with the Association of Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta
  • Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Geological Engineering
  • Possess excellent technical, written, and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Hold a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License
