MANAGER ON DUTY POSITION


Impact Kitchen’s Manager on Duty position - or “MOD” for short - is a supervisory role in the Front of House (customer facing) department. The primary responsibility of every MOD is to ensure all aspects of service run smoothly and according to Impact Kitchen’s standards of excellence. In the Front of House team the MOD is primarily responsible for overseeing and supporting the Server, Cashier, and Barista positions to deliver above and beyond customer service. All MOD’s are expected to role model Impact Kitchen’s brand and values and support their Restaurant Management Team in generating excellent staff culture and ensuring high guest satisfaction.


Essential Duties


  • Manage guest relations and ensure the highest standards of food quality & food safety as set in place by Impact Kitchen food quality control
  • Support an inclusive and safe work environment
  • Delegate checklist items and manage labour based on business volume
  • Ensure all opening and closing shift duties are completed according to Impact Kitchen protocol, contributing to daily reports, manager checklists, and manager log books as appropriate
  • Resolve internal concerns, provide coaching, and escalate to the Restaurant Management team as needed
  • Address cleanliness issues, safety issues, repairs and maintenance as needed
  • Set a positive tone by leading the staff shift huddles while regularly communicating with the Restaurant Management team
  • Facilitate meal breaks
  • Understand & follow all WSIB and Incident Reporting procedures
  • Resolve concerns or comments with timely follow-up and ensure proper communication and handover to Restaurant Management as needed.
  • Lead by example & be an ambassador of the Impact Kitchen brand, standards, dress code, and operating practices
  • Maintain regular communication & check in’s with Front of House
  • Able to execute all Front of House positions in order to support a smooth service
  • Oversee all Front of House operations throughout service


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully and lead others
  • Preferred but not required: 1 year supervisory experience
  • Ability to execute and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Minimum of 2 years restaurant experience preferred
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Preferred but not required: Food Handlers Certification
  • Work Permit required
  • Availability to work days, evenings, and weekends as business requires
  • Strong understanding of food safety and public health practices
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS
  • Be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time
