Front End Web Developer - Javascript

Our leading Australian-Canadian Insurance client is looking for a Front-End Developer to join their team on a permanent basis. The role will operate on a flexible hybrid model from their North York office (Yonge and Sheppard)

Responsibilities:

• Develop responsive pages and apps.
• Enhance web assets' efficiency and performance.
• Continuously learn and improve skills.
• Use agile methodologies for project structuring.
• Support new website creatives, campaigns, tests, compliance, and security.
• Investigate, debug, and report issues.
• Define and adhere to performance standards.
• Drive innovation and agility in design and development.
• Collaborate with stakeholders for high-quality outcomes.
• Lead team projects and set coding standards.
• Perform cross-platform testing and peer reviews.
• Responsible for Develop and maintain front-facing websites, landing pages, and web-based apps.
• Merge code and prepare releases, ensuring minimal disruption.
• Communicate effectively and drive documentation.
• Analyze and solve problems with stakeholder impact.
• Prioritize user experience, accessibility, and page speed.
• Lead technical scoping and requirement creation.

Skills and Experience:

• Ability to translate creative concepts and design templates into flexible code templates
• Experience developing responsive websites for mobile devices
• Version control and task runner experience
• Experience using GIT for version control, and familiarity with Gitflow
• Efficient coding and strong communication.
• Corporate web design experience, especially in finance.
• Working knowledge of web design and development tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Sublime Text and Visual Studio
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience using automated task runners and bundlers, such as Gulp or Grunt
• Content Management Systems and API experience.
• Familiarity with design and development tools.
• 5+ years front-end web development.
• Excellent understanding of website usability, accessibility, security and information architecture
• Cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility.
• Thorough understanding of web production.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and frameworks like Svelte/React/Angular.
• Responsive mobile website development skills.
• Stay updated on web dev trends, accessibility, and SEO.

Nice to have:

• Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) understanding.
• ASP.Net Razor, C#, and design skills.
• Experience with headless CMS, JIRA, and Atlassian suite, such as Kentico Kontent.
• Previous team leadership experience.
• Agile environment experience.
