The Opportunity

Thinkingbox is hiring for a Front-End Developer to join our growing team in Toronto, Vancouver, or Salt Lake City. We are looking for a creative developer who has strong current and previous work. The position demands excellent attention to detail and professional ability. This position will be responsible for working with the team that builds sites on the Adobe Franklin stack. Prior experience with Adobe Franklin is not required, but an ability to adapt and learn a new stack is required.

You will join a very close and collaborative team, which will enable you to continuously grow and expand your skill set.

What you’ll be doing

• Contribute to a culture of excellence around the creative use of technology in advertising and marketing
• Responsible for multiple projects and meeting deadlines while working within a collaborative, creative development team
• Creative design implementation abilities – professional look & feel
• Research and evaluate a variety of interactive software products
• Support Producers and other Developers to manage client requirements, communications, and balance project schedules
• Producing significant results while maintaining a positive attitude and having fun

What you’ll bring

• Strong Vanilla JS and Modern CSS skills
• Knowledge of build systems such as Webpack, Grunt, Gulp
• Excellent front-end web development skills (Javascript / HTML / CSS)
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, ideally in an agency environment
• Experience using CSS preprocessors
• Proven experience with leading, executing, and delivering projects.
• Creating systems with author
• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks/libraries such as Vue, React, WebGL (Three.js, PlayCanvas), Pixi.js, GSAP , and Vanilla JS
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Web APIs (Google’s APIs, Facebook API, Twitter API)

Bonus Points

• Familiar with web performance optimization strategies and best practices
• Experience with a CMS (Prismic, Contentful, WordPress, etc.)
• Proficient with some server ­side development (Python, Node.js, Elixir, PHP)
• Knowledge of web accessibility requirements and standards.
• Development with cross-platform frameworks ie. React Native
