Front End Developer, Whirlpool Corporation

In this role, the Front End Developer will be part of the Whirlpool Creative House, an internal agency that supports the entire Whirlpool portfolio of brands including Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, and JennAir among others. Reporting to the Manager of Creative Services, you will work closely with a team of designers and copywriters to deliver on the development needs of multiple business units.

This role is best suited for someone with a keen visual eye for design paired with a depth of knowledge in current Front-End development skills.


THIS POSITION PRESENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO:


  • Improve the SEO performance and overall engagement of all websites
  • Develop promotional, blog and brand innovation content to support brand initiatives
  • Work with teams to maximize the usage of Adobe Suite of products and enhancements
  • Work in North American environment to adapt and refine US developed content and experiences for Canadian sites
  • Work within the digital team and across functional teams including Brand, Service and Sales
  • Maintain updated content across the branded websites with content authoring efforts
  • Integrate our digital experiences with 3rd party platforms
  • Additional day to day activities include code review, bug fixing and actively participating in remote meetings


SKILLS REQUIRED TO SUCCEED IN THIS POSITION:


  • Vast experience in SEO, accessibility scans
  • Ability to learn fast and take on new systems and technologies
  • Background in user centered design principles across pc, tablet, mobile formats
  • Knowledge of Adobe AEM platform in addition to Wordpress
  • Proficiency in using Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket
  • Working knowledge with Enterprise level CMS’s (AEM, SiteCore, OpenText) and Proficient in Open Source CMS’s WordPress, Shopify & Squarespace.
  • Experience manipulating Javascript libraries
  • Experience using Adobe Target and Adobe Analytics
  • Experience using project management platforms, such as Workfront would be incredibly valued
  • Handles multiple projects with changing priorities and meet concurrent deadlines
  • Extensive knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Capable of developing content from wireframes and interaction design documents
  • 3+ years proven work experience as a proficient Front-End Developer
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver (or other code editors)
  • Graphic design skills would be incredibly valued
  • Extensive knowledge in QA and UAT
  • Familiar with rapid prototyping tools such as Adobe Xd, Figma and InvisionApp
