We are hiring a sales-driven Freight Broker in Surrey, B.C.!

We are an award-winning third-party logistics company – and we’re growing rapidly! We are looking for a motivated sales hunter to join our team as a Freight Broker.


About The Role


Our team of Freight Brokers play a critical role in identifying leads, closing deals, and positioning us an industry leader. As a Freight Broker, your key areas of focus include:


  • Manage customer loyalty points program
  • Team with Operations and Sales to build pipeline, close deals and achieve sales targets
  • Quote Over the Road LTL and Truckload Freight
  • Supply competitive shipping quotes to existing clients and new prospects
  • Nurture Leads & Follow Up
  • Generate positive relationships with all customers, prospects and carrier vendors
  • Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest
  • Source new sales opportunities through our databases for cold calls and emails
  • Customer Outreach
  • Maintain margin goals and quote targets set by the company
  • Negotiate LTL and Truckload spot rates with carriers and vendors
  • Send qualified opportunities to the appropriate broker or salesperson
  • Maintain and expand your database of prospects within your territory
  • Identify inactive shippers and liaise with Operations & Sales to contact them


Your Qualifications


  • Entrepreneurial spirit with motivation to set and exceed goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the North American over the road trucking market (LTL, Truckload, flatbed, dry van, temp control, intermodal, etc.).
  • 2+ years’ experience dispatching for over the road trucking or in the 3rd Party Logistics industry.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly and positive attitude.
  • Computer proficiency, including MS Office (Word, Outlook and Excel) and dispatch management programs (Tailwind, TMW, Axion, etc.).
  • Ability to multitask, manage time effectively and prioritize tasks as needed.
  • Knowledge and application of sales techniques (Sales cycles, prospecting, closing techniques, relationship management, etc.).
  • Proven sales & negotiation skills with the ability to influence others.
