Food Technologist Jobs

Full time, permanent (7am – 4pm Monday to Friday)

£30,000 – £35,000 per annum

Our client is a long established seafood company, distributing fresh and frozen seafood products to restaurants in London and the surrounding counties 6 days a week.

They are looking to expand their team and wish to recruit a self-motivated, hardworking and dedicated Food Technologist.

The role is for ensuring that all products manufactured by the Company meet safety, quality and legal requirements. This will be achieved by monitoring and maintaining the Company and the customer’s quality assurance systems, food safety audits and HACCP.

Responsibilities include;

• Ensure up to date supplier specification additionally converting supplier specification into company format.
• Advise on hygiene and housekeeping, factory fabrication and food handling practices to ensure products are produced in a food safe environment.
• Dealing with food safety and quality related complaints and conduct investigations accordingly and Perform root cause analysis and prepare reports.
• Act upon legislation and guidelines to ensure that manufacturing is conducted legally.
• Working closely with procurement team to approve new suppliers and product.

Person specification

Experience;

• Member of HACCP team experience.
• Experience working in the seafood industry (preferred).
• Previous experience working in a technical role is essential.
• 4+ years food industry experience in similar roles.
• Previous experience of working in the food industry is essential.(fish and seafood industry would be preference)
• Food science qualification or similar is essential.

In return you will receive a basic salary of between £30,000 – £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
