Fabrication Manager Jobs

Vancouver Sign Group is a leader in the sign and printing industry here in BC. We pride ourselves on being able to take any project from concept to completion - all in house. We have three divisions in our company. Digital printing, custom fabrication, and a dedicated in house installation team - all of which work closely together to ensure everyone is set up for success for the same outcome; a beautiful product that the customer and we are proud of!

The start of the success train begins with one very important person that we are in search for, a Fabrication Manager!

As a Fabrication Manager, you should:

• Strive to be the best person you can be. This doesn't directly relate only to your quality of work, but as a genuine loyal, honest, happy human!

• Be friendly, outgoing, and have great people skills! Being able to talk to clients and coworkers about more than just work is an important relationship building trait.

• Be computer literate - working in the sign and print industry will require you to use a multitude of softwares such as Adobe PDF, our CRM/workflow software, Excel, etc. The use of Corel Draw or Illustrator is a plus!

• Have a drivers license, you may be required to do site visits/checks

• Have a great eye for detail. Details can make or break a project in each and every phase. Not every project is the same, and may require different levels of problem solving from what adhesive should be used all the way to what base building attachments should be required for certain signs - All of which will be taught through experience (your own as well as ours).

TheFabrication Manager rolewill be responsible for:

• Supervising staff

• Reviewing projects and work orders during the estimate, PM and production stages

• Ensuring all details are clear and correct to ensure the success of the project throughout the process

• Monitor project status, provide updates to the sales staff as well as the production staff

• Support/Liaise with the sales/production staff through positive recommendations

• Problem solving issues and coming up with effective/creative ideas to resolve them

• Assist with schedule production of the jobs from the sale to the final installation

• Hands on experience with fabrication and or installation is an asset but not required

• You are able to multitask and are able to handle a multitude of projects at any given time
• You have a "find a solution to a problem" attitude to maintain quality and deadlines
• You have very strong communication skills both verbally as well as written
• You have the drive and determination to ensure that you and your team are continuously moving forward not only on the projects, but as individuals
• You are highly organized and are always looking to improve processes

Other Skills:

• Experience with Microsoft Office products is an asset*
• Experience with Adobe Products is an asset*
• Experience with hand tools and working with vinyl and fabrication is an asset*
