Responsibilities
Play an active role in training new extruder personnel by following the Training Program set out by the company. • Maintain production records and ensure extruder personnel is completing records accurately. • Perform daily inspections and/or audits of finished products before they are shipped. • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products. • Monitor and assess employee performance. • Complete Shift activity reports and submit them to Production Manager daily. • Relieve team members as needed (breaks, lunches, absent team member, vacation) • Maintain housekeeping at a high level in the Extrusion area, through the involvement of all extruder employees. • Initiate, recommend, investigate, troubleshoot, and provide solutions and actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to products, processes, and quality systems. • Review production schedules, work orders, and other records/reports to determine production requirements and evaluate the current production workload. Optimize the use of the ERP system. • Develop and maintain cost-effective processes to increase productivity and employee satisfaction, while reducing waste. • Work closely with the Maintenance department to ensure equipment maintenance is scheduled at the most opportune times to minimize downtime and maximize production output. • Conduct Quality audits and develop and implement action plans to correct noted deviations. • Perform other duties as assigned. • Manage and/or adjust work procedures to meet production requirements. • Develop methods to utilize personnel and resources in the best possible ways. • Develop, support, and motivate production employees in applying our values. • Interpret and enforce company policies, safety regulations, and operating procedures. • Analyze and resolve work problems and assist staff in solving problems. • Maintain positive, respectful, and open communication with team members
Qualifications
- Blown Film and supervisory experience
College Degree in manufacturing, quality control or another relevant field from an accredited institution.
• Three (3) years experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment. • Forklift License Required (must attain and maintain).
• First Aid Certification is an asset.
• Experience in a leadership position.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices is preferred.
• Strong physical endurance. • Able and willing to work 12hrs daily.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Oral, reading and writing fluency in English.
