We have an exciting opportunity for an ESB Developer (mid-level to Senior) in our Toronto office, reporting to the Manager, Middleware. In that role, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing and implementation of Freedom’s middleware solutions and API solutions, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, customer commitment, industry best practices and continuous improvement.

• Take the lead in major incidents to ensure the coordination of resolving parties, effective communication with stakeholders, and post-incident review;
• Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues;
• Provide timely and accurate status updates and promptly raise technical issues, risks or concerns to the Project Team;
• Drive project execution, track delivery, and proactively seek and resolve blockers;
• Write technical documents for the proposed solution.
• Review coding, testing, and documentation of software;
• Support project management activities, ensuring issues are documented and addressed;

Does this sound like you?

• At least five years of middleware/integration experience (any platform, such as Aurea SONIC ESB, MuleSoft [or any ESB]), API management, and queue/messaging/streaming is a must;
• Knowledge of the following:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Cryptographic protocols (TLS, SSL);
• Personable, confident and empathetic communicator and relationship builder;
• Unix scripting, JavaScript;
• Database (Oracle) with knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL;
• Source Control (Bitbucket, Git);
• Web service, Client Service;
• Strong project execution capabilities, technical leadership and collaborative capabilities;
• Experience with Microservices, containers (Docker), and cloud-native application architectures is a plus;
• Detail-oriented while delivering high-quality work;
• Protocols (SOAP, REST, JSON);
• Focus on continuous improvement and integration innovation;
• Testing (JUnit, SoapUI, Postman).
• Intermediate knowledge of French is an asset.
• Experience in the Telecom domain is preferable;
• Build tools (Maven, Artifactory, Jenkins);
• Experience with API Gateway and setting up API proxies, products, policies, security and monitoring, a plus;
• Transformation (Xpath, XSL);
• Degree in computer science, engineering or a related area, with over eight years of experience developing and integrating systems;
• Agile (Jira, Scrum, Confluence);
• Message Queue (ability to set up, understand the structure and tweak to get maximum performance);
• Multithreading (designing, developing and maintaining applications using the concept);
• ESB, Broker (broker message, size, setup);
• Java, J2EE;
• Strong middleware, API, data analytical practices, and various technical skills to work with partners and stakeholders to design, develop, test, and implement integration solutions;
