Specifically, The Responsibilities Of This Position Include

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading a team of engineers focused on Test Development for various consumer electronic and telecommunications products, developing test procedures, methods and tools for test, verification, and certification for customer Engineering Projects. This role will be customer facing and work with our executive leadership team and report directly to the Director of Engineering. The employee will validate testing activities and results, participate in design verification of new equipment, and participate in preparing product compliance documentation. This individual should be a highly motivated, quick learner who enjoys a hands-on, high-speed work environment.

• Making determinations for equipment, staff and training needs
• Coordinating work with other managers and staff
• Developing detailed plans for new designs and products
• Ensuring the validity of methods used by staff
• Long term strategic proposals for new tester designs
• Checking their team’s work for technical accuracy
• Work on Continuous improvement initiatives and proposals
• Hiring and supervising staff
• Proposing project and program budgets
• Working with customers and manufacturing department for new product designs and existing product launches
• Leading research and development projects that produce new designs, products and processes.

Required Skills

• Solid knowledge in electronics; embedded systems
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of audio, video and RF circuits is a plus.
• Ability to interact professionally with the customer in written and verbal communications.
• Clear, discriminatory approach to solving engineering problems.
• Good Communication and interpersonal skills
• BS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Master Degree is preferred)
• Managed 4+ Engineers ( multi discipline), electrical and software preferred
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
• Analytical reasoning and problem solving
• Some years’ experience in Test design/ manufacturing is a big plus.
• Experience in Software and Hardware is required
• Working knowledge of C#, C++ and Windows/LINUX.
• Experience with Cable TV equipment standards (DOCSIS)
• The ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of key communications interfaces/protocols including Ethernet, USB, RS-232, RS-485.

Required Experience

• Experience with Cable TV equipment standards (DOCSIS)
• Consumer electronics technical experience and overall understanding is a PLUS
• B.S. in Engineering, or other technical discipline.
• Experience in Consumer electronics hardware design to work with electrical, controls, mechanical and robotics engineers
• 7+ years Engineering
• Experience in developing test instructions and procedures
• Skilled at software design (C#/C++/JAVA) to work with software engineers
• Proficiency in MSOffice (Word, Excel, Access, and Project), report preparation, and data analysis.
