Position Summary:


The Bunge Training Internship Program is looking for collaborative results-oriented candidates with strong critical thinking and communication skills. The internship is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of Bunge’s crushing and refining operations and processes. During the internship, students will be working with various team members to lead and execute engineering, safety, process optimization, and environmental projects. Overall, students will develop knowledge of Bunge’s oilseed facilities and enhance their communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.


Ability and willingness to relocate for the duration of the internship is required.


Core Functions:


  • Interacting with operators and maintenance staff to gain an understanding of each department and assist with creating developing standard operating procedures
  • Assist with other operational tasks as identified by the management team
  • Develop a thorough understanding of an elevator and oilseed processing plant operations
  • Participate fully in the day-to-day operation of a Bunge facility
  • Analyze plant production data routinely to ensure accuracy and to provide response for continuous improvements throughout the facility
  • Assist plant management with projects, P&ID and equipment drawing reviews, equipment specifications
  • Learn and promote Bunge’s safety culture and demonstrate safe working habits daily
  • Assist staff in optimizing plant key performance indicators and support improvement efforts
  • Demonstrate communication skills and understanding by responding to verbal or written inquiries from supervisors, mentors, and program manager


Skill/Experience Requirements:


  • Proficiency in standard PC applications
  • Mechanical aptitude and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Must be organized, results oriented, and possess strong critical thinking skills
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four year accredited college or university, Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Agricultural Engineering strongly preferred
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adjust to new environments, shift priorities, and effectively manage ambiguity, adversity, and constant change
  • Standard working hours between 8 AM – 4:30 PM, subject to adjustment as required by assignment and/or location
  • This position is for a fall term (September 2023 - December 2023).
  • Ability to effectively work with others and independently
